METHODOLOGY & SOURCES

Turnover & replacement cost: 1.5× annual salary per leaver (CIPD Resourcing Survey 2024 — mid/senior roles), a figure that already bundles recruiting, onboarding, and productivity ramp — the productivity/recruitment lines above are an illustrative composition of that same total, not added on top of it, to avoid double-counting. Sick days: 18 additional days per burned-out employee (CIPD Health & Wellbeing Report 2024, ONS) — this is genuinely separate cost, since it's lost time from employees who are still on the team, not leavers. Industry burnout/turnover rates by sector: Deloitte Global Workplace Burnout Study 2024.
